Abstract
This interdisciplinary study investigates Iranian dietary patterns by integrating statistical social data with religious teachings. Findings reveal that visiting fast-food restaurants 45 times annually, soft drink consumption by 95% of individuals, and overeating due to dessert consumption by 60% of Iranians pose serious threats to public health. In contrast, family dining (85%) and women’s role in managing household nutrition (70%) align with Islamic teachings and contribute to physical and psychological well-being. Religious analysis based on the Quran and Hadith highlights the principles of “halal and wholesome food,” “moderation and avoidance of extravagance,” and “gratitude,” which provide a framework for reforming dietary patterns and preventing metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. The study concludes that improving nutrition in Iran requires a combination of economic policy, educational training, and religious guidance. Ultimately, this research proposes an integrative model that can serve as a guideline for families, policymakers, and scholars to enhance public health and reduce generational gaps in dietary behavior. By bridging statistical evidence with cultural and religious insights, the study emphasizes the necessity of a holistic approach to nutrition that respects both scientific standards and spiritual values, thereby contributing to sustainable health promotion in Iranian society.
